FAQs
What is Every Crossing?
Every Crossing is an iPhone app, with a web version to follow, that counts the days you spend in each country. It helps you see how close you are to the day limits that matter to you, such as tax residency thresholds and visa allowances.
Which devices does it work on?
iPhone. A web version is planned, where you add and edit trips by hand. There is no Android app at the moment.
When does it launch?
Soon. We don't have a launch date to share yet. Join the waitlist on the home page and we will email you once, when it launches.
How much does it cost?
Every Crossing is free to use at the moment. We may introduce paid plans in future. If we do, we will tell you clearly beforehand, with the price and what is included, and we will not charge you without your agreement.
How does it know which country I am in?
On iPhone, the app uses your phone's location services to notice when you move to a new country, and asks you to confirm each change before it is counted. Your phone turns your position into a country, a country code and a time zone. Only those, plus the dates, are sent to our servers. We never receive or store your exact coordinates.
Which countries does it cover?
It holds day-counting rules for 237 countries and territories. Whether the day you arrive or the day you leave counts is decided country by country, so each place follows its own rule, for tax residency and for visas.
Can I set my own limits?
Yes. You set the limit for each country, for tax residency or for a visa, and Every Crossing shows how many days you have used and warns you when you are getting close.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes. It keeps working with no signal, and your records are kept on your phone so you can still see your totals.
Is this tax, legal or immigration advice?
No. Every Crossing is a record-keeping tool. It counts days; it does not decide where you are resident or whether you may stay somewhere, and the right answer often depends on more than the number of days. Please check anything important with the official rules or a qualified adviser.
Do you sell my data or show adverts?
No. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps and websites. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Can I export my records?
Yes. You can export your travel records as a PDF, to show an adviser, or as a spreadsheet.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account in the app. It is scheduled for deletion after 14 days, in case you change your mind, and you can cancel during that time. After 14 days your account and all its travel records are permanently deleted.
Can I use it for staff or clients?
Every Crossing is for keeping your own records, including for your own business. If you want to use it to track other people, such as staff or clients, or to manage a team, please email us first so we can agree suitable terms.
How do I join or leave the waitlist?
Enter your email address on the home page. We confirm by email, then email you once when Every Crossing launches. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, which deletes your address straight away.
How do I contact you?
Email support@everycrossing.com, or see the contact page. We will never ask for your password by email.
